Inquiries & Estimates

We begin requests for Holiday Lighting in October- sometimes even as early as August and September for larger commercial clients. Being brand new in the Tahoe region, we are scaling our growth strategically, so we are only accepting a very limited and exclusive number of clients this first year and will be adding to this lucky bunch more every year.

Installation Day

It is not required for you to be home for installation, however we will need gate and/or garage codes for entry. We will handle all installation details as confirmed by the property owner or manager.

Light Outages

Tahoe Lights only uses lights that are manufactured for outdoor use. However, they are temporary lights and when we are dealing with electricity, moisture, wind and other severe weather, lights can go out, get broken and strands can come down.

What to do if your lights are out

If your lights stop working due to moisture , severe weather or other reasons; it is best to unplug them, give the connections a little time to dry out and then reset your GFI. The GFI is the reset button found on many outlets. This button needs to be pushed if it has been overloaded or short circuited due to moisture.

A large percentage of our service calls are simply an overloaded GFI.  Pushing this button yourself may fix your lights immediately.  If you have attempted to reset your GFI and the lights are not coming on, we do our best to respond to you and repair your lights within 24 hours of receiving a phone call. However, we have been installing lights in record snow years in these mountains for the past 5 years, and have had VERY FEW service calls. So we will get things done right the first time, but things happen. Please call us as soon as you notice a problem.

Blinking Lights

Occasionally a section of your property may experience blinking lights- whole areas going off and back on-because we use light sensitive timers, this occurs if the lights are “tripping” the sensor on the timer. An easy fix, all that we need to do is rotate or twist the timer so that it doesn’t get tripped by the lights themselves.

Removal of Lights

We begin light removals each year on Jan. 2nd. We do not schedule specific removal dates. The best thing for you to do, if you are done with your lighting, is to unplug the timers. Then, we will remove them as quickly as possible when we schedule your area.

Typically we have all lights removed in less than 3 weeks (before Jan. 22nd). Please know that we do our best to remove all lights as quickly as possible and we work all daylights hours until all lights are removed unless there are weather issues. IF WE HAVE A GIANT SNOW YEAR- we will remove all the lights that we can reach safely, and we may have to wait for the roof snow to melt before we can access upper rooflines.

We truly appreciate our customers and look forward to doing business with you each year!  It is our goal to provide each of our clients with the best possible service during the holiday season.  We ask that you will please refer us to others, and thank you again for your business!

Every Following Year

We ALWAYS HAVE A LIMITED SCHEDULE. If you are a new client, getting your property locked into our calendar early with an estimate and a deposit is the only way to insure not being put on the waiting list. If you are a return client, we will contact you to set up installation dates.

We will contact you in October to set up early install dates for a discount of 10% if installed before Nov 15, a deposit will be required to lock you into the schedule and if you would like to have them installed after Nov 16, we will still get you scheduled with a deposit, but there will be no early install discount.
